What

We do

The RPN network has boldly taken charge by establishing an organization to unite all Cameroonian groups and volunteer associations dedicated to eliminating the practice of public fundraising following a death.

We urge every member of the community to join an association of their preference. It is vital to avoid isolation and foster a sense of belonging within the community to prevent situations like those experienced in Canada, where individuals' nationalities were often only revealed posthumously, leaving them disconnected and without community support.

The objectives of RPN

Promote integration and solidarity within the Cameroonian community

by encouraging participation in existing associations, thereby fostering a sense of belonging and breaking the barriers of isolation.

Ensure that our funeral service partners

fulfill their obligations outlined in their agreements with RPN by providing the necessary services.

Offer a sustainable solution to the issue of bereavement contributions

within all immigrant community associations when a member passes away. Recognizing that financial support during such times is crucial yet often unexpected, we aim to address this challenge comprehensively.

Bring together all existing Cameroonian associations in Canada

to facilitate the processes related to the death of a member of the immigrant community.

Alleviate the burden on the bereaved family and community

by reducing the costs associated with the death.

Work collectively to facilitate the management

of repatriation or execution of the last will of the deceased.

Develop living benefits for members

Contribute to the information, awareness and training of the Cameroonian community in Canada.

Core Values

RPN is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the community and eliminating the need for public funding requests following a death.

Integrity and professionalism

Funds from donors and member associations are managed according to budget lines, ensuring all transactions are conducted transparently. RPN strictly uses the funds for its primary objective.

We provide financial reports to donors and member associations, regardless of the grant or contribution amount. We believe that timely submission of these reports fosters the trust we earn from our donors.

Membership conditions

To be a member of RPN

  • You must belong to an association or group within the community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some general questions and answers about RPN.

Our members are covered for death occurring anywhere in the world, provided they maintain their primary address in Canada and their membership with the sponsoring association or group is undisputed.

RPN has delegated this responsibility to member associations and groups that are closer to their members. However, it is highly recommended that the first and last names in the database match the members' official documents.

Upon registration, each association/group as well as all individuals sponsored by the same association/group are assigned an identification code. In the event of a death, RPN conducts a formal investigation to confirm that the deceased is a member of the RPN Network. This investigation includes an identification process carried out officially by professionals (such as Magnus Poirier), who have the authority and means to produce the deceased's medical file as required.

The association/group pays $20 for RPN Network membership. This membership gives the association/group the privilege to provide coverage to all of its members.

Membership takes effect from the day RPN receives the membership fees.

Coverage of members takes effect 90 calendar days following their date of registration with RPN.
